The Office of Career Engagement at the Kogod School of Business empowers students and alumni to build fulfilling professional relationships and careers. Students can receive one-on-one guidance on career exploration, relationship building, crafting their résumés and cover letters, and job search strategies. Recent Kogod graduates have gone on to work at Deloitte, KPMG, Cushman & Wakefield, SoundExchange, Fannie Mae, EY, PwC, Marriott, and more.
The Office of Career Engagement provides a variety of services for both undergrads and graduate students. Myself, I've used graduate networking events. And then for undergrads, there's also peer mentorship programs.
The one thing that I will say about the peer consultants is it's a fantastic opportunity for our students to take on a leadership role. And the more they practice and teach others how to behave in a professional environment, the better that they learn. And so, they go out into the real world and they are building their personal brand, and they're building Kogod's brand equity, and that's a big win for us.
The benefits of working with the Office of Career staff is that they really understand the best way to tackle interviews, resume news, cover letters, and that is their focus 100%. So you can trust the advice that they're giving you. And also, they work with you from start to finish.
Alumni connections are invaluable for students. They are perfect for informational interviews. If you're interested in career switching to a different industry and you have questions about the industry in general, I really think it's important for students at the undergraduate and graduate level to take advantage of the alumni connections.
